HOW IS SELECTION DONE IN RANJI TROPHY 🏆

• Salection is done in ranji trophy through ranji trophy trial. Ranji trophy trials are held every year. This trial of ranji trophy is held at the state level and in this trial the selectors come from the cricket state board. They see your basic skills in this trial , Batsman do batting and bowlers do bowling. You have to go in the trial. If you do not have a cricket kit, then there is no need to worry you get the kit in trial it will be better if you use L guard only personally. If you are selected in this trial then you are sent ahead. 

You are further sent to the district where you get 3 matches and you have to perform well in all the three matches. On the basis of your performance, you will be sent to the mandal team and also you get a chance to play three matches from the mandal side. Even after performing well in the circle you are send ahead. On the basis of good performance in the division, you are sent for the ranji trophy trials of your state . Here your place is among the last 60 youths are formed and matches are held among themselves and on the basis of performance your place is made in the last 30. 

This  group of last 30 youths is also called camp In fact this is the last stage of the selection. Your basic skills are seen and tested in this camp . Here your strength, fitness and techniques are seen. This camp runs for about 1 month. Eventually, after performing well in the club, you get a chance to play in the club, you get a chance to play in the ranji trophy. • THE RANJI TROPHY STARTED IN INDIA

• The ranji trophy started in 1934 . On 4 November 1934 the first match was played between Madras and Mysore team at Chepauk stadium 🏟️  Chennai. The first ball was bowled by MJ Gopalan of Madras against N Curtis of Mysore. The name ranji in ranji trophy is derived from the Indian cricketer Ranjit Singh. Ranjit Singh was known as ranji he also played cricket for England and Sussex County cricket club. Ranjit Singh was the king of the princely state of nawanagar from 1907 to 1933 and he also played test cricket for England. Ranjit Singh also played first -class cricket for Cambridge University and for sensex.
